Holly Langohr / Music Director
Originally from Waterloo, Ontario, Holly Langohr recently completed her Master's degree in Literature and Performance specializing in Choral Conducting at Western University. She also graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Honors Music specializing in voice performance.
Holly conducts the UWO Choir, at Western University and has been the recipient of the Clifford Evens Memorial Conducting Award as well as London Pro Musica's Ken Fleet Conducting Scholarship. In addition to conducting, Holly is an active voice and piano teacher at the Academy of Music in London. She is also a Music Director at St. Michael's Church in London. Holly enjoys interacting with music lovers of all ages while generating a positive interest in music and focusing on the improvement of vocal and piano technique. Holly believes that a healthy active lifestyle makes her a healthy voice and enjoys practicing yoga, pilates and figure skating. Holly is extremely excited for the Ingersoll Choral Society's concert season. |
janelle scharringa / principal accompanist
A passionate and highly sought after musician, Janelle Scharringa enjoys her career as both a solo and collaborative pianist. Her talents and versatility as a pianist have been frequently acknowledged, and performances have brought her to venues across North America and China, including the Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre.
Janelle collaborates with musician of all ages and backgrounds and is devoted to creating highly engaging musical experiences. Her collaborative experiences include vocal, instrumental, chamber, orchestral, choir, and dance collaborations at Canada’s National Ballet School. She has worked for both Wilfrid Laurier University and Western University as an accompanist and coach, and is on faculty at the Southwestern Ontario Suzuki Institute and a pianist for the Amabile Choirs of London. Janelle recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Literature and Performance, specializing in Collaborative Piano, from Western University where she studied with John Hess. She also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University where she studied with Anya Alexeyev. Recently she was the second prizewinner of the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition with cellist Cameron Crozman. Janelle is currently based in London, Ontario, where she works at Western University and maintains an active career as a performer, collaborative pianist, coach, and teacher. |
